NOBODY WARRANTIES CLUTCHES...But we will PRO-RATE our clutches for a REPLACEMENT/UPGRADE at a SUPER DISCOUNTED rate if Slippage or Damage happens SHORTLY (about 3 weeks) after installation.
Let the clutch be the fuse...Rather than the more expensive Transmission...It is a lot cheaper/easier to have a backup clutch than it is to have a backup transmission. It is a lot easier to drive a vehicle home with a slipping clutch than it is with a broken transmission. Plus, if it hits the trans easy it hits the tires easy resulting in.....Better 60' times higher RPM launches.
The "BEST WAY" to Check Clutch Adjustment:
Find a hill you can pull the car up on, have the car in 1st gear and turn the engine off. Slowly step on the clutch pedal, about half way to the floor or HIGHER the car should start to roll back. If you are real low to the carpet there is something wrong (twisted input splines, bad pilot bearing, not enough air gap on the clutch, low ramped quadrant). Recheck everything until you can achieve half pedal or higher disengagement, WITHOUT overloading the adjuster or throw out bearing. Your clutch adjustment is tight now and should be checked periodically so you do NOT slip the clutch.
Disc Brake Rear Cars No Burn-out Without Line-Loc or Clutch DAMAGE WILL OCCUR.
Ford 10.5" Clutches
10.5" 3pcs Clutch Kits 10spl (10 splines shafts are usually only good to 400RWHP)
Torq Spec on 10.5" Pressure Plate Bolts 12 then 24 FTTQ
We recommend running Aluminum Flywheels with these RST/RXT applications due to there being more inertia weight with twin disc assemblies, and for the simple fact at these horsepower levels the car makes enough torque for dead weight launches, you can tame the car down by not having so much weight in the rotating assembly of the clutch.
We have found our horsepower rating on our 11" clutches change depending upon what transmission is being run. The reason for this is the T56 6-speed 03/04 Cobra trans has a 266 1st gear which seems to load the clutch more than that of the 5-speed 3650 337 1st gear, the ratio between transmissions in the past has never been so dramatic. So 50-80HP should be subtracted from the posted horsepower for 6-speed application with the 266 1st gear.
